Koh Chang

The ferry to Koh Chang after a loong travel from Sihanouk-ville
White sands beach
The quiet roads of Koh Chang. Not to much trafic. This island was a small paradise.
A couple elephant-trekking and Geir Inge with one of the motorbikes we rented to explore the island.
Some beautiful views from our trip around the island.
No water in the rivers at this time of the year.

A small walkway to a really good beach at the south tip of the island. This beach was almost as good as the ones in Sihanoukville.
From a viewpoint somewhere on the island.
Some fishing-farm and a guy padling in a small cano.
A pier and the ferry's that constantly travel between Koh Chang and the harbour in Trat.
At dawn over White sands beach, and some road elsewhere on the island.
Sunsets at Koh Chang
Pictures of the sunsets are enlarged for use as desktop-backgrounds ;-)
Diving at Koh Chang
The small boat that took us out the the diving-boat. We were picked up early in the morning at beautiful beach.
At the diving-boat with my fellow divers. Mostly germans, swedish and som frenchmen.
Lunch-time at a beautiful bay outside Koh Chang.
Some other chartered boats was already in the bay. A little snorkling before lunch was allowed.

Seaview. somewhere it almost looked like Norway in the summer.
Pictures from the diving boat.

Unfortunatly I could not take pictures below the surface, but it was absolutely fantastic!

I truly can recomend a visit to Koh Chang for everyone. The serenity and tranquility on this island is extraordinary. You will meet a lot of swedish, but the island has not at all lost it's charm like some of the canary-islands have. This is truly a quiet paradise, full of beaches and nice resorts. The island has everything you need, like beautiful beaches, nightlife and family-activities. Just ask at your hotel-reception!

I was not at all keen on going back to Pattaya, but Geir Inge had already gone and the vacation was closing to an end. If there is one island in Thailand I would like to go back to, it's Koh Chang. Hopefully it will remain the same since 70 % of the island is a national park.

On my way home, back to Koh Chang and a fire we drove by on the way to Pattaya.
